NCN Health Nathalia Emu and Kangaroo Sculptures

Have you been to see NCN Health's New Sculptures?
On Thursday, the 13th of October 2022 NCN Health had the unveiling of two beautiful sculptures kindly donated by Vic and Joan Dohnt.
Back in March 2022, Vic approached the hospital to ask permission to use the site for the sculptures, he was very appreciative that they agreed. From there, he got in contact with Mark Niglia from Shepparton, an artist and Sculptor with the idea of doing an Emu and Kangaroo sculpture, which have turned out to be magnificent. Well done and many thanks goes to Mark on the great job he has done.

Galvanising of the sculptures was completed by Furphy & Sons who were happy to do them at a great rate and helped add that finishing touch! There is a plaque on display with a poem from Vic and Joan which says all about their thanks to our beloved town Nathalia (pictured below) which included a host of friends to put it together - Alysha Cornell, Tammy Muir, Kevin and Toni Styles and Joan and Vic. This was just to say how they feel about their family, friends and community over the many years.
The beautiful photography which decorates the plaque stand was donated by Estelle Chalker and Peter Poon, all of native wildlife from our local area which again makes it special to put on show!
Right down to the concrete pads which Vic had help from Noel, Barry and Josh Gemmill - a big thank you goes out to all three. The stand and digital prints were donated by Kevin Styles and Toni who moved to Nathalia eight months ago. Vic was very pleased to meet them when he was out on his delivery run for the Red Gum Courier newspaper. Kevin offered his skill and services to build the steel frames and do all the digital prints to which Vic was very grateful!
The community would like to extend it’s thanks to Vic, Joan and the many helpers for this wonderful gift for us to all enjoy for many years
to come! THANK YOU!
