Barwo Staffing Crisis

Barwo Homestead has been strongly supported by the Nathalia and District community for more than 30 years.

Recently Barwo sought more residents to move into the Homestead and this helped boost numbers. Barwo is in a sound financial position and can continue to provide a valued service to the community.

Now Barwo is seeking more staff. Nationally there is a staffing crisis with businesses and organisations struggling to recruit for all types of jobs. Health care and community services are particularly affected.

With a stable and committed workforce, Barwo Homestead had not been affected by this, until now.

Due to unforeseen external circumstances two staff members have resigned which will leave Barwo short staffed from the beginning of March. Recruitment of new staff is essential to maintain the high quality of care that Barwo provides.

Barwo urgently seeks people with care qualifications to assist to fill the void on a short term and long term permanent basis. Even a few hours a week would be beneficial.

Can you help? Please contact Lynda at Barwo on 5866 2574.

The Committee of Management of Barwo Homestead wishes to keep the community informed and has called a public meeting, to be held on Wednesday 22 February at 7pm at Nathalia Recreation Reserve.  All are welcome.
